TCU to Unveil New Nike Unis Against Utah

Look out, Oregon — Texas Christian is about to take the title for Most Innovative Uniforms.

When No. 5 TCU hosts No. 16 Utah Saturday, the Horned Frogs will be sporting their new Nike Pro Combat uniforms, which are 25 percent lighter than previous uniforms and do not add weight when contacted by water. Not to mention, their design is pretty bad ass, too.

No, the uniforms won't have any role in determining the game. But as fashion-conscious athletes have theorized, "Look good, feel good, play good."

OK, so this item is better left for Paul Lukas and the good folks at Uni Watch, but true to our blog's irreverent name, here's a look at the new high-tech uniforms TCU will sport on Saturday:

I'm giving the uniforms two thumbs up. All too often, college uniforms are too ... uniform. This is a true original, which is nice to see. The unique pattern on the pants and helmet bring to mind the Transformers-inspired design Nike broke out early this year during March Madness.
